Sera Thea is an enigma to most; her true identity veiled by lies and half-truths. Though she often claims to be an exile from Ishgard when pressed, she is in actuality a pureblood Garlean and a defector, having previously served in the Imperial army as a Pilus of some renown. She currently heads the nascent security department at Garlond Ironworks, where she works to identify and apprehend Imperial infiltrators. More recently, her department has been tasked with hunting sky pirates and any others who similarly misuse Ironworks technology. Those more closely acquainted with the woman define her not by the secrets she keeps, but by her relentlessly acerbic temperament. Sera possesses a razor sharp wit and relishes the opportunity to wield it as a weapon, making sport of friend and foe alike. Despite her sharp tongue and haughty attitude, many attest that there is a strange magnetism to the woman; her coldness accentuates an icy beauty, and even those who find her company intolerable will reluctantly admit that she is a distinct presence in any room.Only Sera's closest confidants have ever glimpsed what truly lies beneath the facade.
Narcissism, delusion, cunning, and at the heart of it all: a boundless, churning ambition that threatens to consume everything in its path.

Here are some assorted facts about the character:
- Sera's full name is Seraphina rem Thea.
- She is thirty-four summers old.
- Sera previously served as an officer aboard an Aurora-class vessel in the Imperial army. More recently, she was granted command of an Odyssey-class vessel by the Ironworks, and actively strives to expand by capturing airships appropriated by sky pirates.
- She is often accompanied by her right-hand man, Graeme Sinclair, who loyally served at her side both before and after their defection from Garlemald. Despite their long history together, the pair have a curiously antagonistic relationship, with Sera treating him as a manservant while Graeme fancies himself her reluctant babysitter.
- The establishment of a security department within the Garlond Ironworks was a controversial proposal, and likely never would have been approved if not for the staunch support of Deputy President Jessie Jaye.
- Sera was born with several deformities as a result of Ceruleum exposure in the womb, including a total lack of pigmentation and a crystallised third eye.
- Her abnormal third eye is hypersensitive, granting her slightly more acute spatial perception than an average Garlean. However, this hypersensitivity becomes a liability in more crowded locales, where sensory overload renders her disoriented and clumsy.
- Sera's albinism renders her skin especially vulnerable to direct sunlight, forcing her to take certain precautions against severe sunburn. She also struggles in warmer climates.
- She claims to be asexual, but this is a lie. In reality, she is heterosexual.
- Sera is secretive: some of the information in the Summary is intentionally misleading. Yes, even the spoilers.

Developments

This is a collection of important developments that have taken place through roleplay:
- While spying on a suspected sky pirate, Sera became embroiled in the machinations of Jalia Vordt's crime syndicate. After a failed infiltration and an arrest gone awry, Sera was left with a broken arm and three severely wounded subordinates. Sera and Jalia have since agreed to end hostilities, but failure has left an unpleasant taste in Sera's mouth. Vindictive to her core, Sera still dreams of the day she will settle her score with Jalia and her minions.
- Using false identities, Sera and Graeme were able to infiltrate a crew of sky pirates known as the Kintsugi Fray. After meeting with their captain, Nephrite Wilk, they managed to broker an arrangement in which Wilk would serve as an informant, leaking information about other sky pirate crews to the Garlond Security Department. To date, Wilk has leaked the names of three sky pirate captains, greatly expanding the scope of Sera's investigations.
- When one of Sera's acquaintances - Rasheke Arkwright - began concocting a risky scheme to hijack a Garlean gunship, Sera offered to lend her expertise to his plan - under the condition that the gunship ultimately be delivered to her custody once its purpose was served. Miraculously, the group was able to pull off their daring heist, and Rasheke proved true to his word. The Garlond Security Department has since claimed ownership of the gunship, but this has further complicated the department's standing in the Ironworks, as the move was largely considered a power grab.

Out of Character

- When out of character, I go by Hawk. I am a literate roleplayer with over a decade of experience. That experience primarily comes from tabletop RPGs such as Dungeons & Dragons, but I'm no stranger to freeform or even MMO roleplaying.
- My character can be very rude and abrasive. Do not assume this means I dislike you. If anything, the meaner Sera is, the more confident I am that you're a mature player who won't take offense.
- I am comfortable with most themes and generally don't reject ideas or approaches provided my partner is competent.
- Despite playing on an NA server, I am English. As such, Timezones are a massive pain in my arse.
- My Discord is available on request.
- I may or may not have Mare. It's a mystery.
